Both Adult only Or Adult/Child/Infant classes are designed to provide lay rescuers the ability to recognize several immediate life-threatening emergencies and intervene in a safe, timely and effective manner. Both certification classes comply with all state (WISHA) and federal (OSHA) requirements. Students will receive a 2-Year AHA Heartsaver CPR AED Certification Card OR a 2-Year Health and Safety Institute (HSI) Certification Card upon completion of the course.

What is the difference between an American Heart Heartsavers (AHA) card versus a Health and Safety Institute (HSI) Card

The only difference between American Heart Heartsavers and an HSI card is the company. American Heart sets all the standards that American Heart, American Red Cross, and Health and Safety Institute must abide by. So you are getting the same education no matter which company you select to get your CPR certification from. However, some employers will only accept certain types of certifying companies. If you work in healthcare but do not require Basic Life Support , you may still be required to have an American Heart issued Heartsavers card. For most other employment companies like nannies, construction, warehouse, etc. Health and Safety Institute (HSI) is the best option due to the ease at which classes can be adjusted for your individual work environment needs.
