CPR Northwest Washington is pleased to provide Highlands Preschool with great Adult, Child and Infant CPR, AED & First Aid training and certification. At Highlands Preschool education is their primary focus rather than profit. This allow us to dedicate ourselves to giving preschoolers of all backgrounds a positive first learning experience to prepare them for kindergarten. Part of that focus is providing excellent safety training from CPR Northwest Washington so even in a CPR emergency, they are ready.
Highlands Preschool was organized in 1953 as an independent preschool and has been in operation continuously for 64 years. Unlike other preschools, this means that they are not affiliated with, or supported by, any church, government or other organization. In 1967, Highlands Preschool was granted official 501c3 non-profit status and has been voted “Best in Renton”.
CPR Training for the staff
Highlands Preschool staff consists of both teachers and two part-time administrative positions. Their excellent staff must pass both national and state background checks. Their teachers must also be certified in CPR and first aid as provided by CPR Northwest Washington. As a parent, you can rest assured they are the best prepared staff around!
Highlands Preschool philosophy of education centers around play. This is because play allows for a complete educational process of the mind. Furthermore, the child can then experience development of the “whole” child – intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically. Highlands Preschool fosters a natural unfolding of each child’s unique potential. Consequently the child experiences a growing sense of self-worth and a personal joy in learning.
CLASS DAYS
Pre-K Classes
Pre-K classes are for children who wil be eligible for Kindergarten in ONE year, or who turn 4 by August 31. Class size is limited to 12.
- 2-Day—Thursday & Friday OR
- 3-Day—Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday OR
- 5-Day—Monday through Friday
Preschool Classes
Preschool classes are for children who will be eligible for Kindergarten in TWO years, or who turn 3 by August 31. Class size is limited to 10.
