Basic CPR Classes

cpr AED training classes Our Basic CPR Classes provide students with the ability to provide oxygen to the body and brain when the patient is not breathing on their own. When someone suffers a heart attack, it is usually during what is known as ventricular fibrillation or “v-fib.” This occurs when the chambers of the heart do not receive the nerve impulses to properly contract, and the heart can no longer sufficiently pump oxygenated blood through the body and into the brain. Human cells die very quickly when deprived of a steady supply of oxygen by virtue of a process called hypoxia. CPR or cardiopulmonary resuscitation is a process that is designed to both manually introduce oxygen to the body and to force the heart to pump that oxygen to the various parts of the body through the blood. This process can keep the victim’s condition from worsening until such a time as emergency medical professionals arrive.

When a patient enters ventricular fibrillation, the fastest and most effective treatment is the use of an Automated External Defibrillator. The AED device automatically diagnoses ventricular fibrillation, and pulseless ventricular tachycardia, where the heart is beating upwards of 150 – 180 beats per minute, but still not properly moving oxygenated blood through the body. The AED induces an electrical shock to the heart intended to help it resume a normal, healthy rhythm. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider Certification

This training covers what is known as the “chain of survival;” that being one and two-rescuer adult, child, and infant CPR, AED use, choking rescue, and bag mask use. This instruction course is intended for healthcare professionals such as nurses, emergency medical technicians, and dental/doctor’s office employees. Professionals who successfully complete the course including the written & physical exams will receive an American Heart Association certification card which is valid for two years from the date of issuance.

Our courses comply with all state (WISHA) and federal (OSHA) workplace safety standards, and our flexible class schedules make your onsite group training convenient as well as practical and effective.
